Itinerary description

(NB both the route to the castle and to Polderwind are shown here together on 1 map. The outward route ends at Kasteel Tillegem and the return route begins)


CASTLES ROUTE: this route is signposted with hexagonal signs with red print.


START: The bus will take you to the Koning Albert I-laan. From there it is 1.2 km to the start of the cycle route. Take the cycle path to the bicycle flyover. Keep left on the viaduct. At the bottom RIGHT (cross, pay attention!) to a forest road/Tillegemsbos. 1st RIGHT and further on drive right along the castle moat to the castle gate.

HERE is the BEGINNING/END of the cycling route.


BEGINNING cycle route: Turn around and follow the signs for the Kastelenroute (so cycle back a bit the same way).

1st catering/shop in Loppem


END cycle route: you are back at the castle. OR you cycle back to the bus (see further at 1 ) OR you cycle back to Polderwind (see 2 )


1) to the bus : From the castle gate, drive around the moat and continue until the T-junction. LEFT to highway. Cross and LEFT. Take the bicycle flyover and keep RIGHT. Your bus is ahead.

2) to Polderwind : from the castle gate towards Knpt 70 and further via junction list. Please note : On the busy Torhoutse Steenweg you must take a SHARP LEFT towards Knpt 70.

FINISH: at Knpt 11, go to Knpt 78 and you will pass Domein Polderwind.
