Our bike tour starts from the village of Zetea, in the heart of the Siculus Country region, (in the foothills of the Carpathian Mountains, in the center of Romania) and covers the highlights of the area's fauna. Although the focus is on the characteristic fauna of the area and the traditions that surround it, that is, the cultural values associated with it, our tour also has elements that show us a special, non-native fauna in the area.

During the tour, we will find typical landscapes at the foot of the Carpathian Mountains, a region rich in vegetation and forests.

The route is not entirely observational, as it also includes interactive programs, such as a visit to the petting zoo, the farm and the fishing ponds.

The tour can be done with your own bike, but we also have an offer to rent one. We offer electric bikes, which provide an exciting new opportunity to explore easier and more difficult terrain in an environmentally friendly way. Thanks to the help, we get less tired on the climbs, we can cover longer distances and we can concentrate on admiring the environment. Furthermore, this creates opportunities for a broader age group and less trained people to participate.

We have chosen this outdoor leisure route for the reason that we believe that it is enriched with educational content that highlights the environmental and cultural values of the area. Likewise, we see its possibility of being profitable as a tourist product or service.

During our trip, our intention is to provide a highly intense emotional experience, with pleasant, enriching and participatory leisure time. The singularity resides in the fact that there is no similar route in the area, where the active and sporty character joins the observation of animals.

The area is considered very rich in terms of animal life, and since people in today's society no longer have such a close relationship with nature and animals as before, it would still be worth studying and learning about these animals in order to be able to maintain awareness.

Therefore, this would be our central theme for the trip, to use these tourist resources that generate attraction in the area in a sustainable and educational way.

The Angus is a breed of cattle, indigenous to Scotland. Its main characteristic is the quality of its meat that makes it recognized throughout the world. Although this species of animal is of course not typical of the area, this farm, built a few years ago, has also become a deep element of the landscape in the eyes of the locals.

Here our competent person will take you around the farm and briefly introduce you to the breeding of this special species.

Granja

During the tour, we visit a specific farm, called ,,esztena'', where we can learn about the tradition of nomadic animal husbandry that is still alive today throughout Transylvania.

The word ,,esztena'' means the summer residence of the sheep under the mountain. Here animals of sheep, goats and cows graze freely, and from their milk, delicious cheeses and ,,urdă'' (a type of cheese made from whey) are made, which is considered a local specialty. These herds are guarded by the shepherd and the dogs. The traditional lifestyle of the shepherd, the close coexistence with nature and animals, the beauties and difficulties of life in the mountains are revealed to us in their simple daily reality.

Here we learn about the manual milking of the animals, as well as learn the secrets of making various cheeses and sheep's cottage cheese, and we also participate in a tasting of these, which we consume with a tea made with local herbs.

Our last and most interactive point of interest is the petting zoo.

At the petting zoo, children and adults can pet and feed simple domestic animals (goats, rabbits), wild forest animals (roe deer, deer) and non-native animals (alpacas).

In many cases, contact with animals can be therapeutic, as it has a beneficial effect on our physical and mental health.

Nowadays, fewer and fewer people have pets, so one of our goals with including this stop is to introduce children to domestic animals and some exotic species.

The offer is constantly expanding, and there is also the possibility of horse and carriage rides on the beautiful ponies.

Bear watching is nothing more than examining bears in their natural environment, from a secure, enclosed building with large windows.

The animals are not usually on site, only when they are fed, so you can safely approach the small wooden house with your bike. Then when we get there, the person in charge places food on the spot and calls them, and after a short wait the bears come out. You have to be very quiet during the whole observation, because the animals can run away at the slightest noise.
