Itinerary description
A magical ride in the land of ancient Latmos. The route starts on mountain village of Kayabuku and ends in the lakeside Kapikiri village.
We will begin our ride on a short stretch (5.5km) of asphalt road, one of the most scenic we have ever seen. The route then turns onto a dirt road contouring the forested hillside. After 7 kms of easy riding, we merge onto a rough 4x4 road and ascend steeply for 1.5 kms. This section provides a good challenge for experienced riders. A winding road takes takes us through the nut pines up to a high pass sitting at 900 m above sea level. From there we descend down the southern slopes of Mount Latmos enjoying beautiful views of lake Bafa. Just before the village of Akçalı, our route turns onto a rough track running through scenic olive groves.
From there we follow a rough, rocky road for a short while then walk our bikes for 150 meters until we reach another dirt road running down to Karahayıt. Our final kilometers follow steep, technical roads down to Golyaka with the final stretch on the lake side asphalt road to Kapıkırı.
The ride ends with a brunch/dinner or cold refreshments at a local restaurant.
PS: Please close the gates just before Akçalı village.
