Itinerary description
From the start you ride down towards the Mosel River, and then follow the cycling route along the Mosel and vineyards towards Koblenz. At the Kurt Schumacherbrücke you cross the Mosel and continue on the other bank towards the center of Koblenz. You make a detour to the Deutsches Eck, where the confluence of Rhine and Mosel is, along with a monument to German unity. You now continue along the Rhine, past the cable car station, towards the Kurfürstliches Schloss. You ride around this castle and cross the Rhine on the Pfaffendorfer Brücke. From here you follow cycle paths along the Rhine towards the Lahn River at Lahnstein. You cross the Lahn and continue on cycling routes along the river to Braubach. Here you follow the cycle path directly along the B42 via Osterspai to Boppard. Here you take the ferry to Boppard. You make a small detour through the center and then follow the cycling route along the river to Bad Salzig. Here you are done cycling on level terrain for the time being, and the climb to Weiler starts. This climb is on a minor and partly steep road. In Weiler you join the main road L212 and then the K117 on to Fleckertshöhe. Here you ride the dead end road to the transmission tower (highest point) and then come back to the main road. You ride on towards the highway, but take a cycle path just before it. You cross the highway on a cycle bridge, and then take the L210 back to the Rhein at Boppard. Here, you ride a short stretch along the river, and then do the climb through the Mühltal, a very even and not steep climb. At the top, in Pfannenheck, you take the descent on a forest road through the Aspeler Bachtal. This forest road is quiet, and used by cyclists and pedestrians. Take care of some forest debris on the road. The descent ends in Niederfell at the Mosel. You cross the river, and do a short, but steeper climb up the hill on the other side. On the top you ride between fields and with wide views to Solliger Höfe. Here you descend to Kobern, but before you are there you take the dead-end climb to Oberburg. The last stretch is on a minor road, and the views on the top are great. You turn back to Kobern and follow the cycling route along the Mosel back to Willingen. Just before Willingen you ride below the large highway viaduct, and shortly after you take a minor road through the vineyards uphill. This road is first paved with cobblestones, but shortly after with asphalt. You climb slightly to the outskirts of Willingen. Here you take the Weinlehrpfad, another paved road through the vineyards uphill. On the top you take other roads back down to the center of Willingen, where you started.
