Itinerary description
A 50km long loop with a 1000m elevation gain. It starts in Tropea and goes to Parghelia. The main climb begins after 4km. Over the next 12km to Zungri, the elevation gain is around 600m. In Zungri, there is a a medieval cave settlement which is an interesting archeological site and is worth visiting.
The trail continues from Zungri towards Spilinga. The first 4km are modestly uphill. This is followed by a dowhnill to Capo Vaticano. The trail doesn't reach the city centre though, only the lookout in the northern part of Capo Vaticano.
The section from Capo Vaticano to Tropea is again quite hilly, as the road passes several gorges that approach the sea.
