Itinerary description
Touristic bicycle tour recorded on 13SEP2012. Closed loop performed clockwise. 45,2 km. Total ascent 556 m. Mostly asfalt. 3 km on dirt and gravel. Starting point is the campingsite 'Agricampeggio Corte Finiletto' situated along Strada Bresciana. The tour in the hills includes the villages of Corrubbio, Castelrotto, San Pietro in Cariano, Fumane, Marano Di Valpolicella, Valgatara, Negrar. There are a few steep climbs, non-athletic cyclists may have to dismount there. Suitable for a day trip. You can ride this tour on a hybrid/tour/travel-bicycle with the same gear range as a mountain bike.
The ride from the campingsite to the Adige river is in a completely flat plain. You can see kiwi-fruit farms here.
If you stay in nearby Verona you can start the tour in Parona Di Valpolicella. The tour in the hills would then make 34 km.
Full grown grapes were hanging on the vines. It was to early in the season to see the grape harvest going on.
