Itinerary description
Before my riding buddy Dan got a 29er, we spent a lot of time on the road. (It's so rocky around here that 29" wheels are almost mandatory off-road.) This out and back ride with a little loop at the end was one of Dan's regular hammerfests. The pass headed towards Michlifen is a surprisingly long and tough climb. On the other hand, the little loop down into the caldera at the base of the ski hill is steep, but mostly just fun.
