Itinerary description
Cycling from Vila Nova De Gaia to Almendra along the National 222 road by the River Douro. The first day was a bit longer than I thought initially. I left home at 6:15, and I "throw" the bike against the wall in Peso da Régua more or less at 18:00 the same day.
In total, it was excellent, with great conversations along the way and marvellous views. Although I think for the next time I am going to skip the part V.N. Gaia (km 0) until Castelo de Paiva, it is nothing special. Better to take the national N108 from Porto until Entre-os-Rios than crossing to the other side of the Douro to the national N222 road.
The best part, in my opinion, is between Cinfães and Resende. Beautiful road, lots of bends and climbs :) Pulling into Peso da Régua is also a great sensation, though :)
