Itinerary description

A very beautiful ride in southern suburbs of Brussels. You ride on all types of surfaces (asphalt, bumpy pavement, rough surface and dirt tracks). Twice you have to walk with the bike, so it is not a ride for road bikes. You encounter very diverse landscape: forest, fields, valleys with ponds, built-up area.

You start the ride in Auderghem. You continue southwards along Boulevard de Souverain, then into southern Boitsfort where you enter Forêt de Soignes. After leaving the forest, you are in residential area and from km 9.5 you have to walk your bike for a few hundred metres on a small and narrow but charming path. Then you ride through the village of Rhode-Saint-Genèse, its Sentier des Pêcheurs, Hof-ten-Hout, and beautiful Parc de Sept Fontaines. Then you start coming back in the direction of Brussels through the fields between Alsemberg and Beersel. Then you go via Linkebeek (where at km 28.6 you walk your bike on a small and narrow path in a wood), Uccle, Bois de la Cambre et Watermael.

Very beautiful and ever changing but sometimes difficult to cross. Keep in mind this is not for road bikes and some parts are very rough.

Thank you for your review! Indeed, at moments the trail was difficult and you have to walk the bike through.
