Itinerary description
Beautiful round trip starting in Sorbais. Partly following the "Axe Vert de la Thiérarche" (old railway) and the canal which links the Oise to the Sambre. The towing path along the canal is not really made for cycling, probably not even allowed. Some stretches are badly paved, but always good enough for a normal (trekking) bike. There is no safety barrier between the canal and the towing path. Near the Axe Vert you can have a look at a number of fortified churches which are typical for this region.
