Itinerary description
Although Agha Mohammad Khan Qajar (The founder of Qajar dynasty) chose Tehran as the capital city more than two hundred years ago and played a fundamental role in developing it from a village to a vast city, and an attack from Mongolia had ruined the Shahr-e-Rey (the city of Rey in English) at that time, Shahr-e-Rey has many historical sites from different historical eras including Cheshme Ali, Toghrol Historical Tower, Haroon-Al-Rashid prison, Ibne Babvieh cemetery, and Bibi Shahrbanu Shrine, making the city a great place for a one-day visit. Today, my friends and I rode to Shahr-e-Rey and had a pleasant visit to some of these sites. We also passed by Darvazeh Ghar on our route (a photo is included).
