Itinerary description
I left the apartment 6:30 and headed to Av. Americo Vespucio with Apoquindo, around Km 29 of the Santiago Marathon. It as cold, around 10ºc. It was a surprise because for the last 8 months during last spring and summer in Brazil an in Chile I got used to ride under a hot sun and temperatures ranging from 25 to 37 ºc. I put a bandanna in my ears and found the cones that separated the Marathon route from the traffic.
I was disappointed by the way the route was separated: simple and sparse cones. Well, let's go. Around Km 34 I realized I started too early.
I found the truck that was placing the cones and passed it, so I rode without protection basic until I found Km 42/0.
There I could not ride because it was closed with barriers and security. I took a shortcut and rejoined the route on Km 7 and there, finally I was able to ride in a car free path almost continuous until Km 29 again.
Almost, because a big chunk of Americo Vespucio after leaving Av. Grecia had no separation at all. Did it worth it? Yeah, specially because it felt way more like an adventure than a training session :)
