Itinerary description
A fabulous combination of mountain biking and hiking to a beautiful lake with incredible Mountain Vista’s. The uphill mtn bike ride is a steady slow climb that we did on front suspension bikes. There were only a few steep or rocky sections that we needed to walk, usually less than 40-50 m in length. Our group was 16-63 in age and not seasoned mtn bikers so this is 10.35 km trail is a trail that does not require super fitness or riding skill. Once at the wardens cabin you switch over to hiking 5.2 km to the lake. The views at Shadow Lake are well worth the effort. Spectacular hanging glaciers, waterfalls, sheer cliff faces alpine meadows and marshes surround this beautiful alpine lake.
