RB-17 MALAGA-COLMENAR-RIOGORDO-PERIANA-VINUELA-TORRE DEL MAR-RINCON DE LA VICTORIA- MALAGA

Nice round trip around Axarquia!!! Enough km's and gained elevation.

Start is on the main square Plaza de la Constitucion and take direction towards tunnel ''Alcazabilla''. There you will keep on the street called Calle Victoria for al least 500 meters. At the bottom in front of church turn left...right...left...and right again to enter street called Cristo de la Epidemia. Keep straight on and follow signs Cmn. Colmenar and proper city Colmenar through road A 7000. You start climbing in the city and you have any 15 km in front to come to the famous pass Puerto del Leon (900 m). Go through pass any 2 km till first crossroad with bar/restaurant Venta Galwey. Go along to follow Colmenar via A 7000 again. After other 10 km you enter Colmenar.

Turn slightly right and go through city center to east. follow signs for Riogordo through A 7204. This is a nice 7 km long and steady downhill. Surface sometimes is a bit full of holes but there is always possibility to go along through ongoing direction. Marvelous!!!

Go through Riogordo following signs Periana/Vinuela/Velez-Malaga. After 2 km you have to ride under main road A 356 still following Periana/Mondron. You have any 6 km of climb to pass Puerto Sabar in front. It is steady and with many impressive views around over Axarquia!!! Passing Sabar you have almost all done for this day. There will be some undulated parts but nothing extra hard.

In Mondron there is amazing bar next to the road with nice views. Then keep on for Periana having overviews to Comares and Vinuela Lake. Finally you will come down to city Vinuela. Turn right and immediately left going over the bridge called Puente de Don Manuel and through local and empty road A 7205 which is parallel with A 356 keep on to Velez-Malaga.

At the beginning of Velez-Malaga enter A 356 to go under highway A-7 to city Torre del Mar. There turn right for Rincon de la Victoria and La Cala del Moral to come to El Palo, part of Malaga city. When passin La Cala del Moral you have to enter main road MA-24 for 3 km's because there is no other possibility.

Since Velez-Malaga the journey is flat and you will relax and recuperate enough.
