Itinerary description
Nice training trip with flat start/35km/ and long steady climb/10km/ in micro-region Axarquia!
Start as always in the square Plaza de la Constitucion in the heart of Malaga. Along Catedral and Town Hall ride for the street Paseo Maritimo P.R.Picasso.
You keep on straight until you meet main road MA-24. You have to share 1km with traffic and then turn right for coastal road N-340. This leads you to Torre del Mar where you turn left for Velez-Malaga.
Ride on A-356/Riogordo/ until you see turning for Benamocarra through the road MA-135. You keep on this road till Benamocarra. Before the city starts climbing, inside you will find important fountain on the square next to your journey.
Passing Benamocarra you will continue climbing. The road turn out to be MA-136 until Iznate/food&drinks/, but you avoid entering this village and keep on MA-177 to Cajiz/food&drinks/. Before Cajiz you will reach the top point and as a reward comes 10km long descent. Then the road change again to be MA-176 and leads you close to Benajarafe.
You are again on N-340, turn right to go back Malaga through the same route.

Nice trip along the cost with a grueling climb up to Iznate and Cajiz. But it was so worth it. Enjoyed a bred with cheese and ham and a cerveza at Cafe and Bar La Curva.

Una ruta fácil y agradable si se viene, como es mi caso, a pasar unos días de vacaciones. Lo malo es el terrible tráfico de la costa, con el que ya contaba pero que no deja de ser molesto, aunque tengo que reconocer que me ha sorprendido el civismo de los conductores, acostumbrados ya y afortunadamente a los cilcistas,
La subida fácil con dos rampones y tranquila y hermosa.El track preciso y perfecto. Saludos.
