Itinerary description
Impressive steady climb to observe El Torcal.
You start on square Plaza de la Constitucion. Coffee and tapas to feel strong before ride are recomended. Then follow street Calle Cisneros, turn right to cross bridge Aurora. Straight away through streets: Marmoles/Martinez Maldonado/Av.de Carlos Haya/Lope de Vega all the time following sings for Puerto de la Torre.
You are on road A-7075 leading to Villanueva de la Concepcion. You will ride along lake Embalse Casasola and steady climbing through Valley Barranco del Sol during next 20km. Amazing narrow valley, almost godge sometimes. Big impression. Finally you get unexpected view over Villanueva... and El Torcal. To climb to Villanueva costs some power!!!
In the village turn left for Almogia through road MA-424. Road has nice surface in generally but there are 3 parts without asphalt. All of them around 30 meters-so,not bad!!! You can see Sierra del Valle de Abdalajis, Sierra de Aguas and possibly Sierra de las Nieves somewhere behind horizon, all on the right. On the left side Montes de Malaga and behind you still El Torcal.
Once having passed Almogia turn left to enjoy 8km long downhill. Nice one!!! Going along lake Casasola from the other side you will meet the junction you left at the beginning of the trip and keep direction to Malaga. Behind Las Cruces turn right for Campanillas. You have left last flat kilometers to return through A-7075 and then A-7076.
You finish on Plaza de la Constitucion again!!!

My first bikeride here in Malaga, what a trip. I live up north in the southern part of Sweden where we have no mountains. This was fantastic I loved it thank you.

A very nice ride. While temperatures are high in Malaga (27 degrees in the morning at 7am), I found 18 degrees in the hills. The scenery is beautiful and a coffee in Villanueva de la Concepciòn, made this trip complete. Getting out and into the city centre on this route is a bit challenging.
