Itinerary description
Century ride in Orini Nafpaktia, West Greece.
Great region of "mountainous" Nafpaktos with all the picturesque villages, including famous Ano Chora (Upper Village), but also Terpithea, Limnitsa, Elatou, Anabryti, Katafygo and others. Very pure natire, lots of forests and small rivers. And currently, due to COVID restrictions, empty roads!
Starting with classic route Patra- Nafpaktos via the Rio-Antirio bridge. In Nafpaktos continuing straight to Kato Dafni and Efpalio crossing Mornos river for the first time (some road signs already include Ano Chora as weel). First bigger climb starts from Efpalio and later descents to Reresi, crossing Mornos river for the second time.
From the bridge starts the second climb, much bigger this time, all the way to Elatou and later Ano Chora, with just a small flat/downhill sections after Limnitsa and before Terpsithea. Roads are of poor quality!
Quick descent to Ano Chora with great views to the village and surrounding mountains.
From Ano Chora, short but steep climb to reach Kantriki village and from there, mostly descending, all the way back to Nafpaktos (with only few short climbs) via Anabryti, Katafygo, Golemi, Gavros and Anthofyto. Back to Patras with the same route.
