Itinerary description

ENGLISH
Follow this route and you will see all the most iconic places in the Netherlands: canals, windmills, fields, parks, lakes, castles, and forts.
The route starts in Amsterdam and immediately passes by Sloterplas (a fairly big lake in the city) and continues toward the first ferry through a park and backroads immersed in the peace and the green. The next iconic place on the way it's Zaanse Schans, an old industrial village that had more than 700 windmills. A few of them are still there (and working!) and you can visit them. Alternatively, there are some good places to taste some good cheeses.
The route continues and gets to Stootersplas in the Twiske area: a lake situated only 12 Kms by bike from Amsterdam. It is a perfect location for having a picnic, swimming (be careful: no lifeguard security!), surfing, or just relaxing. Unfortunately, dogs are admitted only in Kure-Jan Strand. The route continues through small roads and the northern area of Amsterdam, then crosses the canal and gets to Diemerpark to ends up in Naarden passing through Muiden. Naarden is a small town very particular: it is a fortified garrison town.
Eventually, the route goes back to the starting point passing by the countryside of Amsterdam, surrounded by nature and canals.

ITALIANO
