Clásica ruta que recorre el poco transitado puerto del cabezo de la plata y vuelta por el Garruchal, recomendable.

Avoid the area of Beniaján when coming from Murcia. It’s a huge building site for the new AVE rail link. Instead take the trail along the Segura ( north bank).
Stunning scenery. Just when you wonder where on Earth you are, there is a restaurant stop (at almost the highest point on route RM13) where you can top up with drink and coffee.
You are riding through mountains then through desert; stunning. Again, avoid Beniaján on the way back.
