Itinerary description
The final leg (and longest) of the Montgomery Canal. Some sections of the towpath are well surfaced, some not, especially around Pant. On the return journey we took a road diversion - minor roads apart from one very short bit of main road - to avoid the worst section of muddy towpath with multiple stiles and some very slippery and gnarly tree roots. The ride was a mile or so longer than shown - I forgot to turn the Garmin back on for a while after a very welcome lunch at the Queen's head pub. Rated as difficult because of the muddy and gnarly sections, which might be easier in summer when it is drier.
