Climbing the Shionami Mountain (潮 南山 / し お な み 山) is a highly recommended single-port tour both for the variety of places it passes through, and for its beauty. The route starts from the city of Kani (可 児 市). Kani is a medium-sized city located in Guifu Province (岐阜 県), in central Japan. To leave Kani from the Imawatari train station (今 渡), you have to go through several traffic lights, but once outside, the road is very rural, going up the Kiso River (木 曽 川) in front of several temples and crossing a typical Very pretty Japanese town called Yaotsu (八百 津 町). From Yaotsu begins the port of about 12 km and an average slope of 3.6%. To get to the top, you have to cross three tunnels and a bridge, the Shintabisoko Bridge (新 旅 足 橋), one of the highest in Japan, at 220 m high. From this bridge, since 2020 it is possible to do bungee jumping, ranking second in the world in the ranking of bungee jumping with the most fall. At the top of Shionami Mountain there is a road service area with restrooms, vending machines, shop and sale of homemade dango with ocha.
