Itinerary description
Ferry assisted circuit of southern end of Loch Lomond. Starts Balmaha car park, through Buchanan Castle Estate to National Cycle Network Route 7 east of Gartocharn, into Balloch Castle Country Park, then out of Balloch onto west Loch Lomond bike path to Tarbet. From Tarbet, a seasonal passenger ferry runs to Rowardennan jetty (by youth hostel) and takes bikes. The final leg returns south to Balmaha. Mainly on minor roads and bike paths. Hard surfaced throughout apart from tracks through Buchanan Castle Estate. Lunch at Old Coachhouse, Luss. Refreshments at Rustlers' Restaurant and Bar, Tarbet, and on ferry.
