Trail photos
On this occasion, as the tour was a bit longer, I left alone without any family member.
Beautiful and simple excursion that is worth doing without haste and with calm to enjoy the beautiful landscapes and to take pictures that will remind us how beautiful this part of Ireland is.
I was in a hurry and could not stop as I would have liked, although I did take a few photos. Impossible not to do it !!!
As always, I left Gloria's house, in front of Lake Hotel, to head north towards Killarney. There I took a road parallel to the road that takes me almost to the detour to Gap Road. Once in the detour, it is followed by a little trafficked road to a parking area and from where there are carriages that go up Gap os Dunloe. There begins both the climb (by road and undemanding), as the most beautiful part of the route. The road climbs parallel to the river and next to small lakes that I could not stop photographing.
Once up (pierced to the bone due to heavy rain), continue downhill, to the Black Valley along the same road to Lord Brandons Lodge. From there, the road is abandoned and you continue along a dirt track with some trail, with very nice stretches next to several lakes before reaching Upper Lake.
Take the road again until you reach the vicinity of Torc waterfalls to continue to Muckross House and then to Muckross Abbey, where there is barely a mile to the house.
In summary, beautiful and easy route that is worth doing with more time if possible, to enjoy the authentic nature of this beautiful National Park.
