First part of the circular route to visit the Castle of Trim.

Carried out by very secondary roads and with little traffic, except for 2.5km in the final part along the R-151 road. I copy below my appreciations of the roads in Ireland to enjoy the road bike:

- The "M" Motorway are the only existing highways, obviously not suitable for cycling, although there are people who do it by the shoulders.
- The "N" Nationals are very high traffic roads but at least have a bit of shoulder.
- The "R" are roads with medium traffic, but with a non-existent shoulder. Compared to Spain, respect for the cyclist is not much better. If a car does not come in front the vast majority of drivers open and respect the safety distance, but if it coincides that a car comes in the opposite direction, the vast majority neither reduce speed nor wait for the car to pass in the opposite direction, and you pass by even some trucks.
It is NOT advisable to use these "N" or "R" roads except for a small link section.
- The "L" and the rest of rural roads without denomination are ideal for the enjoyment of the road bicycle, roads without traffic, good asphalt, and with a nature and greenery that gives it a special charm. The use of mountain biking in Ireland, at least as far as I know it seems complicated, the whole country is divided into fences, fences and walls, there are very few paths through natural areas.

Returning to the route, time goes along and makes a perfect day for the bike. The first part has a constant ups and downs, but not of great demand and of very short heights or climbs. Both the roads and the landscape are spectacular.

It is essential to stop at the Abbey of Bective, Very nice site, preserved and in a very nice paisaj'istiko environment. It is not a place that is full of tourists, in fact I was alone all the time that my stop lasted.

The castle of Trim is also spectacular, and you can walk around it, The only problem is that having the bike I could not make the tour inside it, which is worth 5 Euros (not guided), although I guess that for sure You can leave the bike somewhere guarded.
