On the island of Inisheer, the most beautiful thing is to get lost ... that sooner or later you always get back together. We start the tour leaving the port through the area of the rugby field, passing through the Celtic tombs and the modern cemetery. The village is finished and the labyrinthine road that goes around the south coast of the island begins, taking a few detours you can go to a nice Lough or to an area where one can get into the famous fences delimited by low stone walls , but beware that getting lost is very easy, the walls are not so low and if one goes too far or does not memorize the route, then it is difficult to leave that. Following the main road / road, you will reach the most emblematic of the island, the rusty ship that is lying on a beach in the south of the island. From here you can see the lighthouse, and you can easily follow the road that goes up a little and offers good views, it seems that it returns to the port but then turns again to the west and passing through a populated area going towards the lighthouse. To go to the lighthouse you have to do about 2km of dead end, once at the lighthouse you can decide whether or not to violate the prohibition to enter and pass the fence, to reach the height of the seashore. We reached the lighthouse but we turned without entering, to see the hills of the collapsed medieval castles. To go to these castles, once done backwards 2km from the road of the lighthouse, you can go down to the left on a path (better if walking ..) then go back up between the walls and meanders to the top of the first hill (here you have to get off the bike because the bottom is dirt / grass / rocks and it's quite steep). After seeing the first castle and passing close to the second one, instead of going to the north side of the island we go down again towards the town, going through the rugby field and ending the tour in a local pub, taking a good pint of Smithwicks!
