Itinerary description
Herston to Corfe via downs. Outward along top of downs with 40+ mile horizon in all directions. Back along sheltered lower path, could swap in and out routes or both ways along the top. Mostly off road grass and chalky mud so off-road bike best though my wife managed on road bike...
You can start from anywhere in Swanage too...
Also walking one way and taking the enthusiasts steam train along the valley the other way works well. If you want to bike one way you could ask them and they may accept bikes in the guards area.
If there is any wind you will feel it on the hill top of Nine Barrow Down.
