Itinerary description

This bicycle tour connects two of the most outstanding beaches of Western Crete: namely, Gialiskari on the south coast and Balos-Gramvoussa at the NW end of the island.
The documentation is strictly limited to what pertains the bicycle tour. I will publish further material about the Gramvoussa region in a separate track, focused on hiking. Similarly, the ruins of Hyrtakina are only hinted, but not covered, since I will present them within a separate cycling tour from Sougia to Paleochora.
An unusual Creta is the one that you find here, with chestnut forests and queues at road tunnels - which happens in the short Topolia gorge.

At Gialiskari I was the spectator of a serenade coming from a tiny boat navigating in direction Lissos.

At Prodromi you find also the fork to Lissos, in case you want to reach it from this side - but consider that it is far better to go from Sougia.
