Itinerary description

A varied showcase of local scenery and heritage and excellent cafes.
Follow NCN 765 through historic Dunblane to Doune on rural cycle tracks with fine views towards the Trossachs. On crossing over ancient Teith bridge (1535) you can avoid the busy A84 by taking the unsealed estate track to Cuthill Brae.
Rejoin the main road for 400 hundred metres turning right, then first left across the quiet Carse with expansive views towards Stirling castle and Wallace monument.
Cross Old Drip bridge (1773) then A84 to find the old road and narrow path under the motorway (or stay on the path beside A84). Go through Forth Valley College carpark to reach the path beside the river Forth to the Old Stirling Brig (14 or 1500s). Cross and follow the river upstream along cycle paths, crossing the railway to Bridge of Allan. Up and through Kippenrait Glen SSSI via NCN 765 back down to Dunblane.
Cafes in Doune, Dobbies, Forth Valley College, Bridge of Allan and Dunblane.
