Itinerary description
On Sunday 12 November, the UAE’s super highway transformed into a bustling cycling track, welcoming thousands of cyclists who took to the road to pedal their way through the 12km Sheikh Zayed Road Route and the 4km Downtown Family route. Riders enjoyed the once-a-year opportunity to cycle past some of the city's most iconic buildings as part of Dubai Fitness Challenge (DFC)!
Over 35,000 amateur cyclists and biking enthusiasts took to the streets as Sheikh Zayed Road turned into a giant cycling track for the 2023 edition of Dubai Ride.
Long balloons, streamers and colourful costumes added an oomph to the non-competitive ride as several riders dressed up for the event. Some residents drove from various emirates while others stayed over with their friends and family to make it to the ride on time. Dubai Police supercars led the start of the ride that saw people of all ages and abilities cycle collectively over 546,000 km.
We took part in Dubai Ride 2023 cycling ride on the iconic Sheikh Zayed Road as part of Dubai 30X30 event.
It was more of a leisure ride with freedom to drive on a fully closed ever busy SZR, and enjoyed every moment of it by relishing every moment and clicking pictures all the way.
This was a very leisure cycling with hundreds of stops to click pictures and enjoy the privilege of cycling on one of busiest highways of UAE, once a year thanks to Dubai Government.
