English

Bike path to the climbing sites of the Wadi Gnai, from the Lighthouse Reef and arriving at the same place. I chose a path that took more asphalt to the valley, but there are others only on the asphalt, others with more land, and others on the seashore. Just playsearch on google maps and it gives you more options too.

Until the arrival to the valley, the road is mostly asphalted. In the valley, the terrain is very difficult, because there are stretches of very soft sand, which makes the pedaling practically impossible in some small stretches. In spite of everything, I found it very good to ride in general. There are many stretches with beautiful views to both the sea and the mountains / desert. The wayback from the valley is very nice because it is a way down, and despite being light, gives even a feeling of donwhill.

I went on a winter day, on a sunny morning, but with moderate heat. I imagine that in summer the conditions must be more difficult. The valley was very empty, I met with few people, some cars, some climbers and some quadricycles. My biggest company was the flies, which apparently dominated the valley and bothered me greatly. It pays to cover well, or take repellent.

I have been pedaling around Dahab and I have found it quite easy. Drivers in general are accustomed to cyclists, and when they see us, they honk (I imagine) to show that there are people behind (or to offer you a taxi !!!). It is a small town, with no traffic (at least in the season that I went, winter) and wide roads. The roads also did not have much movement and they were very calm to cycle. The valley is very desert, and only civilization is found in the nest, where there is a "Bedouin" camp where you can get food, water and tea. Therefore it is recommended that you take everything you need.

In terms of safety, I found it quite easy. It's a desert of people, and whenever I left the bike at the "parking" spot, when I got back it was there. And the car I saw "parked" was also all open, so not even the local population cares about it. And overall the feeling during the course was tranquility, wild and harsh environment and isolation (which I greatly enjoy).

In this route I was able to see several species of birds, Nubian Ibex (Capra nubiana) and a small rodent that seemed to me to Hyrax (Procavia capensis).

On the waypoints I put some climbing routes that I found and identified through the guide that can be downloaded with the desert-divers.com staff.

Em termos de segurança, achei bem tranquilo. It is a wilderness of people, and always that of the gods with a mountain of "estacionamento", when voltei ela estava lá. E o carro wagon paradox também estava todo aberto, então nem a população local if preocupa com isso. And no geral or feeling during or perpetuating foi de tranquilidade, wilderness and ríspido environment and isolation (or que eu curto bastante).

Neste percurso achieves avistar diversas espécies de pássaros, Nubian Ibex (Capra nubiana) and um roedorzinho que me pareceu um Hyrax (Procavia capensis).

Nos waypoints coloquei algumas vias de escalada que eu encontrei and identifiquei através do guia que pode ser attainment com or pessoal from desert-divers.com.

From here on, it's offroad. The way is sandy and sometimes it might be necessary to carry the bike instead of riding it. Here ends the asphalt. Now it's sand, dirt and sometimes even loading the bike, depending on the strength and ability of each. Qui finisce l'asfalto. D'ora in poi, la strada è sabbia e magari should portare la bici in any return

Here there is a "Beduin" Camp. I think that here is where the "Beduin dinner in the mountains" takes place. Parece que é aqui que acontecem os jantares beduínos no desert que as agências vendem. I don't know what is here neither what is beyond here. Sometimes there are beduins offering tea and shisha. From here on, only on foot.
