Itinerary description
Cycling - A section of dismissed coastal railroad has been converted into a paved dedicated cycling path between San Lorenzo and Ospedaletti, through Sanremo, for a length of some 20 Km with a few (probably three) illuminated tunnels. Bars and facilities along the way, as well as a few bike rental spots.
Stage 1 of the 2015 Giro d'Italia - Team Time Trial - took place here in early May.
Today's ride included the whole of it, back and forth, plus a portion of the classic Milano-Sanremo race that includes the climb from San Lorenzo thorugh Costarainera and Cipressa followed by the fast descent to Marina di Aregai.

Tips:
WiFi available at Scalo No. 4 bar in Santo Stefano (N43 50.326 E7 53.478).
Average grade to Costarainera about 7.5%, no shoulder but scarce traffic.
Note: my track goes through the narrow pedestrial alleys in the village of Costarainera. Suggested to do anyway, but should one want to avoid this, just follow the main road leading to Cipressa.
