Itinerary description
Cycling - Morning climb to the city icon of Basilica of Superga.
Most members of the Royal House of Savoy are buried here.
On the back of the basilica, a memorial marks the site of the impact, occurred on My 4th, 1949, of the airliner that was bringing back FC Torino soccer team from a match in Lisbon. Due to fog, and possibly a broken altimeter, the aircraft couldn't avoid the crash. The incident took 31 lives and destroyed the team.
Quiet ride through urban parks and the city center. Max grade 12.5%.
Suggested way up, as per this track, is via a safe road with almost no traffic. Going up via the recorded descent is not suggested for it is a narrow road and traffic can be heavy. Fine going down though as it's rather fast.
