Itinerary description
Cycling - Up the Po Valley to the very source of the longest Italian river (652 Km, 407 miles).
Past Crissolo, the steep one-lane road is open to traffic although most vehicles do climb early. Riding this section in late morning is then the safest timing. During weekends, less traffic on Saturdays than on Sundays.
The fabulous setting of Pian del Re (King's Flats) sits under the towering Monviso (3841 m, 6145 ft) and saw the finish line of the Giro d'Italia twice.
The pristine area is listed under the Unesco MAB (Man and Biosphere) program.
