Itinerary description
Cycling - On the occasion of stage #19 of the Giro d'Italia 2018, I rode up to Colle del Lys with a friend to watch the race passage. We climbed the hardest side of this Colle, then back down on the same route. Then rushed home in time to catch up with the rest of the epic stage on TV.
After the Lys, the race went through three more KOM Colli including the dramatic Colle delle Finestre.
Our initial idea was to ride up there but road conditions and closure didn't allow to reach it and we then opted for the Lys. Great day up there.
NOTE: total positive climb recorded by GPS is 971 m (3,185 ft). No idea why Wikiloc shows 1,365 m.
