Itinerary description
Cycling - Metropolitan Cleveland, Ohio, has many green areas to enjoy. One of these is the Cuyhaoga Valley National Park which lies around the homonym river. In addition to a good number of walking trails through the woods, the Towpath was once used to move boats up stream the Ohio and Erie Canals. Partly paved, mostly gravel, this is a favorite for cyclists and this track covers a portion of it (from Brecksville to Boston Mills, then downtown Cleveland and back).
From April to October, the Scenic Railroad takes bicycles aboard and is used by many who want to walk or ride just one way.
The Towpath is not plowed in winter to the benefit of cross-country ski enthusiasts.
