Itinerary description
Cycling - Perfect fall day to try the whole length, and back, of the paved Michael Castle Trail which runs along the Chesapeake & Delaware Canal, a man-made waterway inaugurated in 1829. A peak of 80 degrees F (27C) was well above the seasonal average. There were hundreds of bikes so I moved a large mantis out of the trail after taking a photo.
The trail starts in Delaware City and peeks into Maryland. Almost totally flat except for a couple of diversions away from the water.
