Itinerary description
A 2-day cycling route from Koźatyn railway station to Bila Cerkva railway station.
Rostavyća is a river, flowing 116km eastwards - from Koźatyn to its mouth in the outskirts of Bila Cerkva.
Its whole channel is a cascade of ponds and reservoirs, separated by numerous dams. During the first industrial age in Ukraine (1860s-1917), practically every village here erected its own stonewall watermill, and in 1950s they were supplemented by a series of small hydropower plants. Over a dozen of old watermills have been preserved till our time, although just several are still working. Nevertheless, it is a wonderful place to see the milling industry as it was a hundred years ago.
