Itinerary description
There is a common knowledge, that in bright weather the viewer on top on Kýiv-Pečerśk Lavra can see all neighbouring suburbs around Kýiv: Brovary, Boryspil, and in the South as far as Obuxiv. This cycling trip proves it from the opposite angle: from the hills in Obuxiv the towers in Kýiv are seen in full view!
The first part of the route goes in the flat Dnieper valley through the forest to the town Ukrajinka. The connection between Ukrajinka and Obuxiv is very fast: a good road along the Stuhna river near the industrial area. Then starts the hilly part with wonderful picturesque views:
- from the top of the hill in Stožary towards Ukrajinka and towards Neščeriv;
- from the Monastery hill in Neščeriv towards Kýiv;
- a long road at the foot of the hill through the villages of Novi Bezradyči and Pidhirći;
- a 'Glider Hill' ('Planerna Hirka') in Xodosivka with marvelous panorama of the entire route.
