Itinerary description
Bike along Route 5. Use the "service drive" mostly. Start out at Hotel Descanso. Take first cross walk to West side of Route 5. Follow service drive. At Teno Sur you must go slightly away from Route 5. Just stay right at turn and road will bring you back to Route 5. Do not cross over to East side of Route 5 until you are more or less forced to at the overpass about 1/2 mile before the final destination (Teno USDA inspection site)(or route 25 to Los Quenes). You must ride along the West side of Route 5 to cross the bridge over the river (The bridge on the East side has a much narrower shoulder). This is the most dangerous part of the ride. Just be very careful and know your exit strategy if a truck comes at you (basically try to get to the other side of the rail and hope you can grab on so you don't fall to the rocky river below).
