Itinerary description
Bike ride starting and finishing at Gintung avoiding both Ciputat and Parung often using small roads and tracks. The outward leg can be used as an alternative route to Bogor. Mostly sealed road but often in bad condition ( especially on the return leg) so suspension bike preferred. Some fine views of Gunung Salak (on the right day!) The photo attached was taken at the small situ at the southern most part of the circuit. A good coffee stop on the way back is the Dunkin Donuts in Pamulang at the Pertamina station opposite the Jln. Dago turn. Especially nice because it has a very cool AC to literally chill out just about when you need it on the return leg!
Technical details:
The 200m peak shown is a GPS artefact -probably caused by rebooting phone - maximum height for trail is about 150m.
Route planned and all data recorded on a Samsung Galaxy S4 using an excellent app called "Soviet Military Maps" - don't ask me why because it does a lot more than just show you Soviet era maps, interesting as they are. In fact it utilises many maps sets including Google map/sat and Bing map/sat and some such as Open Cycle Map that are downloadable. The app has a track recorder, information dashboard and a route planner. I can recommend it.
