Itinerary description

Starting at Chirk we rode along the cannel to Llangollen. A beautiful ride. Unfortunately the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct was closed so we had to take a detour. It would have been a great experience to ride across it. As we reached Llangollen there was a great tea room on the canal with views down onto Llangollen town. Then we headed very steeply and up for about 20 minutes, the electric bike really was needed at this point. We then rode through the Welsh valleys on quiet roads all the way back to Chirk. A great ride out. I had options to take a few sections off road but didn't take them this time due to the cold and limited daylight in January

Entering Canal Tunnel

We rode through this tunnel, luckily no meeting anyone coming the opposite direction as it is narrow, it takes a couple of minutes to ride through. Bike lights are important
