Itinerary description
Starting in the morning from camping 'Ionion Beach' at moderate temperatures. Passing the small and nice village of Arcoudi, the tour lead you to the dunes of 'Golden Beach' and the ruins of a historical roman bath/spa (Loutra-Kyllinis). The spa spring with sulfuric water is still active and is located on a public site surrounded by old and huge eucaluptus trees and swampland vegetation, today. The trail continues on the road to Kastro Kyllinis. The last kilometers to the village of Kastro the road rises from nearby sea level to 200 m asl. On the top of the mountain you can visit the impressive crusader castle 'Chlemoutsi' build in the 13th century and enjoy the great panorama. The rest of the track lead you back home (various trails are possible) to the camping site.
