Itinerary description
Biking in Puglia is very underrated. Which is just too bad as the landscape is great for it.
This track is nearly 70 km, making a big circle around Mesagne, while passing though Brindisi, San Vito and Latiano. As it's a circular track, you can obviously start it at any point.
This description assumes you start at the parking of Decathlon in the outskirts of Brindisi.
From the start, you follow a country road that is parallel to the train tracks, until you come to a part where you cross the train tracks. From there, it makes a big circle around an old NATO base. After passing the train tracks one more time, it's almost a straight line to San Vito dei Normanni.
In that town, there are 2 water fountains as well as a supermarket (see way points), next to the usual cafes and bars.
As you leave town, you will follow a somewhat bigger road, but soon you're back on the small country tracks. About half way, you'll pass by a nice bench to take a short break before driving the next section to Latiano.
In Latiano, you'll also find the usual bars and cafes, but I didn't notice any water fountains.
The last section of the track takes you passed the south side of Mesagne, as you criss-cross through the country side to avoid the larger tracks.
As you get back into Brindisi, you'll cross under the highway to get back to the starting point.
