Itinerary description
Route southwest from Bort-les-Orgues on both sides of the Dordogne valley. It starts with a 5.6 km climb to Puy de Bort, passing near the famous 'Orgues' (if you want to see them up close you have to leave your bike). It then winds through quiet countryside down and up the Diège valley to Liginiac, and then to Sérandon where the road drops to one of the Dordogne reservoirs. The route then crosses the reservoir and climbs out of the valley to Arches where it then winds down the Mars valley to Vendes. The last climb is to Champagnac and from there the route goes down back to Bort. The countryside along the whole route is beautiful and mostly deserted and the route offers some great views unless it rains as it did the day I rode this route.

Jaleyrac Road
The little road from Jaleyrac to the D12 has bad asphalt with grass in the middle here and there. It is ok for a racing bike if you cut down on your speed. If you want a faster road, take the D922 to Vendès, and continue the route from there.
