Itinerary description
At the start you can park your car along the road in the Wiltz valley below Benonchamps, near the RAVeL L164 cycling path. From here, you climb out of the valley to the border near Niederwampach with some old border markers. You ride a short while through Luxemburg and cross back in to Belgium near Longvilly. You continue to Moinet and on toe Bourcy. Here you enter the RAVeL cycling path L163, a fully asphalted former railway track taking you almost all the way to Gouvy, past Buret. Steinbach and Limerlé. Near Gouvy the cycling path ends, and you cross into Luxemburg to Hautbellain. You leave Luxemburg again towards Ourthe, a village near the source of the Ourthe Orientale. You cycle up parallel to the young river to the ridge at Deiffelt. Here you follow the larger N68 road to the Luxemburg border. Here is Knauf shopping center, and also border marker 286 of the cast iron series placed about 1843 between Belgium and Luxemburg at the most northern point of Luxemburg and the former tripoint between Belgium, Germany, and Luxemburg. After the Great War, the German border shifted to the Our valley, where the tripoint is nowadays. Here you also find border stone 75 of the series placed at the former Belgian-Prussian border. From the geographic curiosity you descend into the Ostkanton towards Espeler and then Oudler. Here you enter the Vennbahn, a fabulous cycling path between Aachen and Troisvierges, for a short while. Near Lengeler you climb the busy N62 a short while to Malscheid and then take the turn-off on a quiet road to Beiler. At the border, you follow a road along the border to Kaesfurt. Here you climb to Weiswampach. From here you descend into the Our valley at Ouren. From Ouren you follow the Our valley to the tripoint. You can visit the tripoint if you take a 100 meter unpaved road to a bridge spanning the Our. The tripoint is in the middle. The river Our is a condominium which means it is governed both by Germany and Luxemburg, a quite rare type of sovereignty. That is why the tripoint is actually more of a tri-line. After a short excursion to the tripoint you may visit the Europa monument at the border, commemorating the founding of the EU. Then you have the longest climb of the day to Lieler and on to Weiswampach. From here you follow the busy N7 to Wemperhardt past the shopping center and then on to Buergplaz. Shortly before the Buergplaz you pass by the highest point of Luxemburg (Kneiff). Buergplaz is the second highest point and has a monument and a tower. At Buergplaz you left the N7 and you ride on mostly quiet roads via Huldange to Hautbellain and on to Biwisch near Troisvierges. You ride to Hachiville through an area with wind mills and wide views near the Belgian border. Via Hoffelt you continue to Troine, and on to Hinterhasselt. Here you follow the border with some antique cast iron border markers a short while. You continue to Allerborn, and on to Oberwampach. Here you follow the Wemperbaach valley a short while to Niederwampach and then descend to the Wiltz valley. Here you take the Piste Cyclable de la Wiltz (RAVeL L164 in Belgium) back to the starting point
You can find something to eat and drink in the shopping centers along the northern border (Knauf Shopping Center, Wemperhardt shopping center), Oudler, Weiswampach, and in Troisvierges (a bit off-route).

This is one of seven trips along the Luxemburg border, taking you around the entire country, with generally quiet and beautiful landscapes, the Our, Sauer and Moselle rivers, the industrious and mining landscape in the south, picturesque villages, three tripoints, wetlands, countryside and hills.
