Itinerary description
A great cycle route through the beautiful Derbyshire Countryside. This route has everything, quaint villages, country lanes, the cycle routes of the Manifold , Tissington (briefly) and High Peak trail. It takes in the beautiful Carsington Water and has plenty of stop offs for Coffee, Cream Teas etc. A mountain bike is needed for several off road sections and it is fairly long at 40 miles so you'll need to be fit. We set off at 11am and returned home about 6pm. We stopped on the Manifold trail to hike up to the superb Thors Cave.

Tea Break
We always stop at this tea room on the Manifold trail, perfect setting, remote and good quality drinks and cakes. They also sell Derbyshire oat cakes .

Lunch in Hartington
So many choices for lunch in Hartington, we chose the Charles Cotton hotel, the service was a bit slow but the food and coffee was good and it gave us time to relax
