Interesting bicycle tour to visit the monumental heritage of Anuradhapura. The first and final part of the route is in the center of the city and it is the least attractive, also in this section you have to be careful with traffic. Everything else goes through rural areas with very little vehicle density and the landscape is very pleasant. Also emphasize that you have to drink a lot because the heat and humidity tighten a lot as the day progresses. The entrance to visit all the monuments is taken in the Museum of Jetavanarama and costs 25 dollars. It is advisable to take old socks in the backpack to put them on many visits (many of the monuments are sacred sites and you have to take off your shoes and take off your hat, and even in some you have to wear long and have your shoulders covered).

Compra de entradas

You have to buy the tickets to be able to visit most of the sites. They'll ask for you quite often, so it's best not to try to sneak in and carry them by hand. They are purchased at the Jethawana Museum (white colonial building) on the left as you enter the compound.

The entrance to this interesting religious complex is not included in the general pass, but for us it was one of the most interesting visits of Anuradhapura. You had to pay 200 rupees (just over € 1). Highly recommended

Shi Maya Bodhi

Very sacred tree, considered a religious symbol of the first order for Buddhism. It is considered the oldest certified tree planted and care in the world (about 2000 years) Although they impress the data and the environment, the tree itself you see it rather little (so protected that is and the deterioration that has, for very sacred to be)
