Hi James! How much time takes to reach de top (abra malaga)?
I'd allow at least 3 hours from Ollantaytambo - depending on your fitness and altitude adjustment, Good luck!
Thanks!!!
Hi James! I am thinking about do the same route! Some recomendations about the altitude!? I practice usually running and cycling but would like to have another opinion! Thankss!
Hello there - altitude is something that affects people very differently, so hard to make any recommendations. But you'd be best to take some time to adjust to the altitude before trying this ride. I did it on a old mountain bike I rented in Ollantaytambo which was definitely not ideal and needed a lot more effort to ride uphill. Not very steep but when you get to 13,000ft and more the exertion starts to get hard. If you've not tried anything at this height before then be careful. The consequences of altitude sickness can be very severe...good luck
