Itinerary description
There is a nice paved bicycle path that runs along side the 1000 Islands Parkway that is just looking for riders! Thanks to Louise for setting this up and getting us out the door on a cool spring day. There is plenty of exposure to the St Lawrence River and several places along the way to explore.
Our group had lunch at a small park in Rockport overlooking the river and then retraced our route back to the starting point (plenty of parking). The stretch is very popular in the summer and weekends, but we found drivers to be very conscientious on the parkway and on secondary road crossings. Still very nice to have a paved and dedicated pathway.
Lots of sights with a combination of some wildlife, a national park, nice views and beautiful homes. Well worth a visit!
