Itinerary description
Right after doing the Scuol Martina Talloipe I tried this one in Zernez (30 min with train)
This is one I recommend taking a pass on unless you are very curious, or it has snowed recently and you get confirmation that its groomed.
First of all, do not do it with Classic skis (unless as per above). It does not seem a very travelled track and just a little bit of wind will cover the tracks. Better with skating skis as the wider sections don't trap as much snowdrift.
There was about 1 kilometre, in two stretches of broadly 500 metres each where you had to take your skis off and walk/run...sometimes it was bare road, sometimes it was slippery hard packed ice.
You will need to take off your skis 6 or 7 times in total, also when crossing other roeads.
If you skate, beware that most of the track is also a winter walkers path so it will not be very nicely groomed..
Finally, I turned in Susch because I could not see signs to go further, I wanted to go further downstream to the next village.
If you are going to try Zernez.. better stay close to the tracks near the town.
Done in 1h51 moving time.
